2017 Joyful Ornament Recipient

Vickie Parham

My name is Vickie Parham.  I was diagnosed with breast cancer in my left breast in 1996.  I had a lumpectomy and did 6 chemo treatments and 37 radiation treatments.  I was diagnosed again with breast cancer in left breast in 2014.  I had 2 - 6"inch tumors and a spot on my sternum this time.  I had a mastectomy on my left breast on January 2, 2015.  Then I did 37 radiation treatments on that area and sternum. I have had a spot on my lower back and right hip and had radiation on both areas.  In May of 2017 they found a couple of spots on my liver.  I have had 5 chemo treatments and have one left on September 20, 2017.  I will then have a scan to see what is going on.  I am praying and believing that God is healing me.  He is the great physician and is in control of my life.  I am thankful for Joyful Ornaments and what they have done for me and my family.

I have been married to my husband Mike who is an architect with Fluor Corporation, 24 years. I have 2 children.  A son Stephen who is 22 and a senior at Clemson and a daughter Kelly who is 19 and is in the Vet Tech program at Greenville Tech.  I love Jesus and I love to exercise and spend time with my family.
